Porto Montenegro is seeking a motivated individual with a proven track record in successfully managing development projects, ensuring optimum time, quality, and safety outcomes.

  • SCHEDULE: Full time, Monday to Friday

  • POSITION REPORTS TO: Development Manager/Project Director

Key Aspects of the Role:

  • Develop and communicate clear project delivery strategies;
  • Ensure adherence to development department Standard Procedures;
  • Provide leadership to the Project Team (including the Operator, where relevant, Consultants and Contractors), fostering teamwork and collaboration;
  • Define individual roles and responsibilities within the team and monitor performance;
  • Establish future personnel requirements to ensure that the project is adequately resourced and that the team is effectively built;
  • Chair weekly project coordination and progress meetings with stakeholders;
  • Participate in Departmental Risk Reviews and propose mitigation strategies;
  • Establish and control Cost, Time, Quality, and Safety targets;
  • Develop and maintain a Master Programme showing all project activities;
  • Manage stakeholders' performance in terms of time, quality, and cost;
  • Participate in the preparation of pre-opening programs and procedures;
  • Report on project progress to the Development Manager/Project Director, and provide early risk warnings;
  • Manage Design teams and design consultants through various design stages, together with the Design Manager;
  • Review design and advise on amendments;
  • Participate in departmental procurement, in line with Standard Procedures and oversee procurement schedules and contracts;
  • Devise and recommend procurement strategies;
  • Ensure Project Costs are under control and lead Value Engineering processes;
  • Administer building contracts or oversee the process;
  • Manage fast-tracking delivery programs;
  • Manage Contractors to issue rolling 3-week lookahead schedules;
  • Implement corrective action for any delays;
  • Define the requirements for a contractor Method Statements and ensure compliance;
  • Prepare and manage quality control & snagging procedures;
  • Establish and monitor Risk Register;
  • Manage Commissioning and Handover stages;
  • Provide strong and effective leadership in Health and Safety.

We’d love to hear from people with:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture;
  • Minimum 5 years of post-graduate experience in project managing large construction projects in this region;
  • Fluency in English and local language.
